In summary, members of the community saw the need for upgrades. In this case, that meant engaging with local legislators and representatives to secure capital from the state. With the help of Representative Will Guzzardi and Senator Graciela Guzman, we were able to secure approximately $250,000 and our Alderperson, Ruth Cruz, was able to pull in additional TIF money, which brought us closer to $500,000.
